BRANDING CREATIVE DIRECTION PHOTOGRAPHY COPY WRITING
The Teesside Trekking club (or TTC as the regulars call it) is a passion project of mine that combines Design, the Outdoors & the Local Community. Teesside and its surrounding area gets a bad wrap from outsiders. My goal was to bring locals together
to celebrate the one beautiful thing we all have in common... no, not a big greasy Parmo, the delightful North Yorkshire Moors.
By branding my idea i’ve been able to gain traction on instagram drawing in crowds of fellow hikers, which myself and my good friend Harry have documented through photography.
Admittedly, I spent a relatively short amount of time on the logo. Once I'd had the idea for the club, I didn't want to delay the project by brainstorming and designing and fine-tuning a perfect logo. I was worried I would use the logo design process
as a method of procrastination. I opted for Adobe Garamond with nice tight kerning and roughened its edges for a rugged feel
to contrast the rather elegant font. The logo must have resonated with the general public though because a year after our launch, "Teesside Running Club" (no affiliation) opted for a sans-serif version with exactly the same typesetting, white on black.

We released a limited edition cap. And by limited I mean 20. I was hesitant to order any more incase they didn't sell but they were off the shelf like hot cakes. Result! We also heard reports they increased hiking speed by ~10%.
This was one of my first forays into Blender. I use the club as an excuse to try new things design-wise.

My good friend Max is a Barefoot fanatic and wrote a marvellous review of his Vevo Barefoots. To pair with his review I wanted to try and mimic a Stereoscopic camera, and was pretty happy with my DIY recreation.
One person bought a pair of Vevo's off the back of this.
We're still waiting on our commission.
In 2023 I hiked 2,650 miles, from Mexico
to Canada via the Pacific Crest Trail.
